“Fashion is the form of Art I have chosen to express my emotions and feelings with, by mostly choosing subjects that are heavy in their context.
I chose to base this project on the film Girl, Interrupted. The subject of the film is a complex journey and battle of mental illness and I wanted to create a unique interpretation of what it means to be mentally ill and to develop something beautiful but that still has an impact on the viewers. “
Born 1993, in Geneva, Switzerland,
Khemiri displays a variety of 3Dimensional work to emphasise mental illness.
The conceptual ideas behind her masks uses raw and organic materials to explore and express vulnerability, hidden emotion, and the fear of judgement.
She wants viewers to empathize but also think outside the box.
