Day 9

Finale!

PictureA New Dawn - African Violet, by: Denize Ladeatte

Day 9

We started the @globalarttrail in London and today we're ending literally on the other side of the world with Australian artist: Chelle Destefano, a watercolourist, deaf artist and visual artist whose dedication to her craft has led to her receiving an invitation to exhibit at the Venice Biennale this November 2015. But more on this important opportunity later in this finale piece with news on how you can help, "Get Chelle to Venice!"

This has been an amazing nine days and an incredible journey that began with the launch of East Meets West Design Week 2015 in July and a memory of the first artist to offer support and literally walk through the doors of my art gallery with a selection of work  to be hung within hours of me ringing to let her know I'd moved into my gallery.

Abstract painter and CityScape Artist Sara Sherwood is an astute business-woman with a passion for life that drives her to express the beauty she sees through art. She gets spiritually enraptured in her artwork and has an angelic presence to her aura.

I'm delighted to share with you this print on canvas, titled: Hippo Belly Sky - He Flowers within You from her art collection, and one of two pieces which hung proudly in the main gallery of the: Museum of Cultural Arts in July.

Please take a moment to visit Sara' website and make a purchase by clicking on the image. Prices start at £295 and can be shipped globally.

Prior to leaving home a call from a colleague and friend: Denize Ladeatte connected me to her niece Zalika; an artist who is part of a family of artists. Following a tele-meet which included viewing her works digitally, she signed up to take part! Earlier that afternoon I'd met with the wonderful Angela Lamb: an Interior Designer from Somerset and Agent to Stained Glass Studio Artist: Matthew Lloyd-Winder. Angela was in London for the weekend and visited with a friend. Sara had also visited with a female friend and after selecting and hanging artwork we all went for a meal in a nearby hotel before heading off in the evening' sunset.

Collectively these women inspired me in different ways. As I made my journey home o
n that beautiful and hot summer' day from Canary Wharf I made a decision that will remain with the lifetime of this event: The first day of: East Meets West Design Week 2016 on the  Global Art Trail is "Ladies Day" - etching a stamp in MoCA' history. I'm humbled and grateful for this moment to express my gratitude to these women and to all the artists; established, emerging, students and the industry professionals that contributed to the launch in July.

Please visit the Canary Wharf section of this website which features the artists who made the inaugural event possible: Sara Sherwood, Matthew Lloyd-Winder, Gemma Seddon, Zalika Ladeatte-Williams, Darren Way and Kingston University Fashion Design students: Sinead Gabriel and Tara Khemeri.

This tribute is extended to and includes those in Europe and the USA who helped launch the Global Art Trail: Calvin Coleman (USA).  YoungMi Lamine (Belgium), Lorna Carmen McNeil (Emerging Talent), Eleonora Nicoletti (Italy) and Jon Daniel (UK).

In rounding up 2015' inaugural Design Week and Global Art Trail we have decided to extend the promotional offer to any artist looking for exposure and support who signs up to the: Global Art Directory we've the the cost of £10 (15USD) down until mid October when the price returns to £11.00 monthly.
